As mentioned elsewhere, I’ve historically skied and snowboarded around the Alps. I’m no stranger to skiing, but one area I haven’t really checked out yet is Alaska. Recently, I’ve heard quite a few people talk about one place in particular: Alyeska.
While combing through the internet for some more research, I came across this great article that painted Alyeska in a pretty positive light.
- Alyeska Resort is the largest ski area in Alaska
- It features over 1,600 acres of terain
- It gets about 600 inches of annual snowfall between October and April
- Its located 45 minutes west of Anchorage
Since Alaska is only a stone’s throw away from New York (ha), I’d love to check it out sometime soon. If you’re thinking of a visit, you can find out more at the resort’s official site.
